On Valentine’s Day not long ago—14 February 2026—there was a launch for an anthology called Haunted Hearts, which focussed on the Paranormal Romance genre.
I’d published it under my imprint 1231 Publishing, but celebrated it as an author among many of the others.
Paranormal Romance is different to Romance in that it doesn’t require an HEA (Happily Ever After) ending, or a HFN (Happy For Now) ending. Which means the ending of each of these stories can surprise you!
My own story was placed at the back of the book, and it’s titled ‘What She Wants’. Essentially it’s about a couple of telepaths who get married and think communication should be pretty easy. I personally believe with mixed messages comes great misunderstanding! It was fun for me to unfold their relationship. I wrote it through the perspective of the husband, Ethan.
The paperback is available in bookstores and libraries already. If they haven’t got it on the shelves, you can get it ordered in. I priced it at $18.95 for bookshops and $4.99 for the ebook (which will go down in price next year, if you want to wait).
